Today’s journey is nothing less than a great opportunity to gain an insight into one of Morocco’s gem; a city that has managed to maintain its culture and unique lifestyle for several ages, its Medieval Medina deemed a veritable open-museum and is nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage; with countless masterpieces of architecture, historic buildings and truly magnificent palaces.
Throughout this delightful Fez guided-tour, discover the oldest imperial city in a whole new way.
From the top of the Al-Qolla hillside, passing by the “Fes Jdid” most imposing attractions and on to the depth of the Medieval Old Medina.
Our departure point will be the remains of the 14th century Merinid tomb; stand on the Al-Qolla hillside north of the Medina, little is left of this necropolis but the views to be had for the Sefrou valley and the Medina bellow are undoubtedly worthy.
From here we continue to discover the famous golden gates of The Royal Place and down to the Mellah or Jewish quarter; an area that was allocated for the city’s Jewish community in 1267, prowling the quarter’s narrow and twisted alleys you will feel like you step back in time, with the beautiful ancient houses decorated with artistic wood carvings, plaster, and ceramics; and packed with several shops of all kinds what holds a great opportunity to do some shopping.
Once the trip finishes you will be taken back to your accommodation.
